The Realization Process (RP) Changed My LIFE: It’s been a long journey, but I have finally arrived.

by Jennifer Finch, M.A., LPC, NCC, SEP

Imagine a version of myself, years ago, before I truly understood the depth of my body, my breath, or the space that connected them. I was holding it together, doing my best to help others navigate their pain and trauma, but inside, I often felt a quiet, simmering chaos—a restlessness that wouldn’t settle. I was moving, teaching, and healing others, yet something fundamental felt absent. It wasn’t about skill or knowledge. It was about my own sense of aliveness. I was good at existing, at being functional, but I wasn’t fully inhabiting my life.

Then I stumbled upon the Realization Process (RP), a practice that wasn’t about fixing or perfecting but about becoming present, becoming whole (not fragmented, not parts)— attuning AS a unified, unbroken presence that underlies every thought, emotion, and sensation. At my very core, the very essence of ME, I experienced STILLNESS, SURRENDER, and incredible OPENNESS/SPACIOUSNESS as the GROUND of my BEING.

Dr. Judith Blackstone, the creator of RP describes this GROUND: “It is the stable, unbreakable ground of our being, beyond injury, beyond psychological trauma. When we realize it, we know that no matter what we have suffered in our lives, no matter what we have lost or how much pain we have endured, this primary aspect of ourselves has survived intact. One of the great rewards of nondual realization is that we finally recognize that we have not been irreparably damaged by our life circumstances. We are still there; we can still find ourselves, whole and capable.”—The Fullness of the Ground

And there I found myself, resting fully, opening vastly, letting go immensely, into this GROUND of ME and EVERYTHING. It knocked my socks off and blew me away. It was a quantum leap from any meditation practice I had researched, taught, and practiced. It went light years beyond any breathwork or Kundalini yoga practice I had engaged in. And it far surpassed any somatic or cognitive psychology modality in which I had trained. This FELT-SENSE is what I have been searching for!

At first, the idea of feeling into my own body, being present without escaping into analysis or distraction, was unsettling. I had spent years avoiding the very sensations the Realization Process invited me to explore. But slowly, through gentle guidance and deep exploration, I started to sense my body in a way I never had. It was as if I was meeting myself for the first time—beneath the roles, the responsibilities, the labels.

What I found was more than just relaxation or mindfulness. It was a profound return to a space I didn’t even know I had lost—the center of my being. In one session, I remember sitting in meditation and feeling a warmth in my chest, a pulse of energy that spread out to my limbs, grounding me in a way that I had never felt before. My breath shifted from something I managed to something I experienced. I began to trust the aliveness within me, realizing that healing wasn’t about doing—it was about allowing. It was about losing my grip on everything, including myself, so the energy could FLOW.

This shift changed everything—not just in my personal practice, but in my work with clients, in my relationships, in how I moved through the world. I began to see how embodying my own presence allowed me to guide others to theirs, not by instruction but by example. I started teaching not just with words, but with the quiet and stillness of my own grounded presence. I watched my clients respond—noticing their own shifts, finding spaces in themselves they never thought were possible.

My course offerings and retreats are my invitation to you—to step into that space, to feel what it’s like to inhabit your own body in a new way. It’s not about becoming a different person or achieving some kind of spiritual perfection, attainment, or result. It’s about discovering the wholeness that is already there, just waiting to be lived.

Join me, and let’s explore this work together. It’s time to feel what it truly means to be alive.

Be Here, and Be Now.
